Model fish farms

During a two-year period we monitor 8 freshwater fish farms constructed according to completely new principles with almost 100% recirculation and filtration of the water.

Our primary objective is to document and determine the effects of the various cleansing components used at the so-called “model fish farms” (sludge cones, biofilters, recirculation, plant lagoons). We identify the most important processes and interactions in connection with the cleansing of the components and discharge of nutrients and organic matter.
