Topic Centre on Agricultural Monitoring Catchments

The Ministry of the Environment’s Topic Centre for Agricultural Monitoring Catchments is organised under NERI. The Topic Centre is responsible for national tasks in connection with the Danish nation-wide monitoring programme "NOVANA". The Centre is also national reference centre in connection with the European Environment Agency (EEA).

The Topic Centre’s national activities are undertaken in 5 catchments where the connection between agricultural exploitation and pollution is intensively investigated. The monitoring is undertaken by the Danish counties.

New organisation

As per 1 July 2011 the National Environmental Research Institute (NERI) has been closed down. The research activities are now gathered at the Department of Bioscience and the Department of Environmental Science. In the future, consultancy services to authorities etc. will be provided by the DCE - Danish Centre for Environment and Energy on the basis of input from these two and other Aarhus University departments.
