NERI monitors the status of selected species and habitats. We construct models for the trend in populations and their interaction with the landscape. We investigate how animals and plants are affected by agriculture, hunting and other leisure activities, offshore wind farms, oil activities in Greenland, etc.

New organisation

As per 1 July 2011 the National Environmental Research Institute (NERI) has been closed down. The research activities are now gathered at the Department of Bioscience and the Department of Environmental Science. In the future, consultancy services to authorities etc. will be provided by the DCE - Danish Centre for Environment and Energy on the basis of input from these two and other Aarhus University departments.
