Arctic Environment

This page concerns the environment and nature in Greenland and other Arctic areas – on land, at sea and in the air.

NERI assesses and monitors how the Greenlandic environment is affected by mining activities. We participate in the international monitoring and assessment of the arctic environment – AMAP. Finally, NERI investigates global changes in the environment and climate – what will happen and what consequences this will have for the arctic environment.

New organisation

As per 1 July 2011 the National Environmental Research Institute (NERI) has been closed down. The research activities are now gathered at the Department of Bioscience and the Department of Environmental Science. In the future, consultancy services to authorities etc. will be provided by the DCE - Danish Centre for Environment and Energy on the basis of input from these two and other Aarhus University departments.
