Greenland Ecosystem Monitoring - GEM

Greenland Ecosystem Monitoring (GEM) is an intensive cross-disciplinary baseline study of climate change effects on marine and terrestrial ecosystems at two sites in Greenland, i.e. at Zackenberg in the high arctic Northeast Greenland and at Nuuk in the low arctic West Greenland.

New organisation

As per 1 July 2011 the National Environmental Research Institute (NERI) has been closed down. The research activities are now gathered at the Department of Bioscience and the Department of Environmental Science. In the future, consultancy services to authorities etc. will be provided by the DCE - Danish Centre for Environment and Energy on the basis of input from these two and other Aarhus University departments.
