You will receive keys and an access ID-card, so that you freely can enter and leave the facility
You can have your own spot at the department's website
You can have a office working place at your disposal (possibilities for this vary between departments depending on available space)
You can use the department's facilities on equal footing with the rest of the staff; however, use of NERI's vehicles is only possible with a prior written agreement
You will have access to NERI's intranet and at the same time access to the internet
You can borrow or download books and articles from NERI's library
You will have the possibility to participate in department meetings and seminars (possibilities for this vary between departments)
You will have the opportunity to present your project to the staff of the department and your fellow students
You will be part of an integrated professional environment where teamwork is encouraged
As part of the supervision you will be guided in writing your scientific manuscripts
If you have a working place at the department, we expect you to have your daily presence here (unless you are e.g. doing field work)
You use the department's facilities on your own responsibility
You clean up after your self everywhere you go about; it is especially important to uphold proper laboratory disciplin
You will have to know and live up to NERI's safety rules
When you leave the building outside normal working hours you have to make sure that lights, computers, kitchen appliances, photocopy-machines and the like are turned off and the building locked
You are expected to participate in professional activities (talks, seminars, etc.)
You are expected to participate in department or group meetings (varies between departments)
You are expected to give a short presentation of your project at the beginning of your master's period at a seminar and a more extensive one at the end of the period
Data collected in connection with the master's thesis is the property of NERI, but it is of course completely at your disposal
You are obliged to store your data electronically and available to everyone at the department
We recommend you to write your master's thesis in English and in a format of one or several scientific articles
You and your supervisors make agreements on authorship of scientific manuscripts
Master's theses are to be delivered in print as well as electronically to the department
If you do not succeed in publishing your master's thesis in the form of a scientific article or a report 2 years after the date of you obtaining your degree, then the right of initiative of the publication will be bestowed upon NERI, but you will of course be offered co-authorship
