The National Environmental Research Institute (NERI) is part of Aarhus University (AU).
NERI offers PhD scholarships in cooperation with a Danish (or possibly a foreign) PhD school that will be responsible for the final assessment and conferment of the PhD degree in accordance with the Ministerial Order on the PhD degree issued by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Education.
At any one time there are usually between 50 and 60 PhD students working at NERI and who receive guidance from NERI researchers.
NERI’s research addresses nature and the environment on land, in the water and in the air, as well as societal processes of significance for the environment. In addition, NERI places importance on cross-disciplinary analyses of topical environmental issues, such as climate, biodiversity, energy and environment, environment and health, as well as state-of-the-environment assessments and management models. With enrolment in the PhD schools it is possible to undertake your PhD, where the PhD project is integrated with NERI’s research environments, located geographically in Roskilde, Silkeborg and Kalø (Djursland).
