The aim of RESCOMAN was to develop a robust, operational and cost-efficient remote
sensing system for mapping submerged vegetation as a means of
assessing the environmental quality of coastal waters.
The main issue of Rescoman has been to elaborate the methods to be used in operational
mapping of submerged vegetation based on especially airborne camera
An important issue has also
been to evaluate the parameters governing the distribution of
submerged vegetation in order to suggest suitable supporting
parameters for the classification of remotely sensed images.
