This section describes the various scripts, programmes and a database developed for this project. Please refer to the disclaimer regarding the use of these scripts. Reports on errors and suggestions for improvements are welcomed and should be directed to webmaster.

The tools are separated according to the program environment controlling them:


This utility is used for reading data in NetCDF format. The utility can extract meta-information, images, quick-looks and roll-correct images. Dependent of the chosen function the output will either be ASCII files or images in ENVI image format. This utility is controlled through the ENVI menu interface and require the following lines to be included in the "User function" section of the file:

This utility is used for modelling supplementary ground control points for the use in TIN resampling of images. Depending on the parameters given the programme will model points along the edge of an image and / or model additional points inside the actual convex envelope of existing ground control points. In both cases is the modelling based on triangles "forced" in the cross-track direction of the image.

This utility is used for roll-correcting an image based on a previously roll-corrected image. The application may be where a non-roll-corrected image has been processed through noise reduction procedures, and now is to be geo-corrected. In- and output are ENVI images. This utility is handled by the ENVI menu interface and require the following line to be included in the "User function" section of the file:

This utility is used for conversion of images between CHIPS for Windows and ENVI image format. The conversion from CHIPS to ENVI is done by writing the appropriate header file. The conversion from ENVI to CHIPS involves the splitting of multi-band images into single band images with embedded header information and optionally writing a ENVI meta-image. This utility is controlled by the ENVI menu interface, and requires the following lines to be included in the "User function" section of the file

This utility is used for adding height information from contour lines to 2D break-lines describing ridges or depressions in the terrain. See "Creating a Depth model based on contour lines" for details on use. This utility requires the ArcView "3D Analyst" extension to be available.



The file Sun.bas includes three functions to calculate the solar elevation; the solar azimuth angle and the Fresnell coefficient for water based on a given solar elevation angle.



is a Mapinfo application to plan flight route and photo point. The software can be obtained from


BioFlight :

BioFlight is use for aerial photographing. By flight over the photo point the camera is activated and the position are stored on a logfile.
